Pound-for-pound king Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez won his fourth world championship in four different weight classes Saturday night, taking a unanimous decision over Carlos Cuadras to claim the WBC Super Flyweight title belt at the Forum in Inglewood, CA. The fighters engaged in an epic slugfest for 12 rounds, but Gonzalez’s remarkable skills earned the victory on all three cards, 117-111, 116-112 and 115-113.

The 29-year old Gonzalez, 46-0, 38 KO’s now has surpassed the legendary and fellow Nicaraguan Alexis Arguello (three-division world champion) with his fourth world title. The 28 year-old Cuadras, 35-1-1, 27 KO’s suffered the first profession loss of his career. A rematch is definitely a possibility in the future, but hopefully fight fans will now clamor for “Chocolatito” to face Japan’s Naoya “The Monster” Inoue, 11-0, 9 KO’s, who just successfully defended his WBO Super Flyweight title last weekend.

IBF Bantamweight titleholder Lee Haskins, 34-3,14 KO’s grinded out a unanimous decision over British countryman and former titlist Stuart Hall, winning on scores of 117-111, 116-112 and 115-113 to retain his title for the second time. The fight was part of the Gennady Golovkin-Kell Brook undercard at the sold-out O2 Arena.

The 32-year-old Haskins and Hall were meeting in a rematch of Haskins’ 2012 unanimous decision to win the vacant European title. Now Haskins is 2-0 against Hall, 20-5-2, 7 KOs, whose four-fight winning streak came to an end. He was bidding to regain the 118-pound world title he held from December 2013 to June 2014.

Marlon Tapales (WBO) and Shinsuke Yamanaka (WBC) are two of the other bantamweight titleholders. Jamie McDonnell is recognized as the WBA “regular” bantamweight champion, while Zhanat Zhakiyanov is recognized as the WBA interim bantamweight champion
