Beloved Actor Michael Madsen, “Reservoir Dogs”, Dies At Age 67 – Entertainment News

By Karen Beishuizen

Michael Madsen is gone. He died of cardiac arrest at home in Malibu on Thursday, 3 July, at the age of 67.

I loved this guy.

The New York Times was absolutely spot on yesterday when they said:

“He had the air of a throwback actor, a timeless Hollywood heavy who seemed to have stepped out of a 1940s film noir.”

His sister Virginia Madsen wrote in a statement:

“He was thunder and velvet. Mischief wrapped in tenderness. A poet disguised as an outlaw. A father, a son, a brother – etched in contradiction, tempered by love that left its mark.”

Michael was best known for his frequent collaboration with Quentin Tarantino, appearing in “Reservoir Dogs”, “Kill Bill”, “Kill Bill: Vol 2”, “The Hateful Eight” and “Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood”.
Other charismatic roles were in “Donnie Brasco”, “The Doors”, “Thelma & Louise”, “Free Willy”, “Wyatt Earp”, “Mulholland Falls”, “Sin City”, “Strength and Honor” for which he won Best Actor at the Boston Film Festival and the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival.

During a career spanning four decades, Michael didn’t shy away from TV roles: “St. Elsewhere”, “Cagney & Lacey”, “Miami Vice”, “Crime Story”, “CSI: Miami”, “24”, and “Powers”.

Michael Søren Madsen was born on 25 September, 1957 in Chicago.

He is survived by his mother, sisters Virginia and Cheryl, his third wife, DeAnna and his children, Christian, Max, Kal and Luke.

Michael was one of the most intense and compelling actors with an electrifying presence both on and off the screen, he had a rugged charm and that twinkle in his eyes.
He will be sorely missed.

Ringside Report sends their condolences tot he Madsen Family in their time of grief.
