Matt Clark Actor in “Back To The Future” & Many Westerns Dies At 89 – Entertainment News

Matt Clark, a character actor in many Westerns, died on Sunday, 15 March from complications following back surgery. He was 89.

He was born on Nov. 25, 1936 in Washington DC.

He made his big-screen debut in the 1964 movie “Black Like Me” (1964), starring James Whitmore, and played a Southern punk in “In the Heat of the Night”.

A familiar face in Westerns, he starred in “The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean”, “The Cowboys”, “The Outlaw Josey Wales”, “Jeremiah Johnson”, “Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid”, “Will Penny”, “Monte Walsh”, and many more. He also played a bartender in “Back to the Future Part III”.

He worked with director Stuart Rosenberg on four movies: “Pocket Money”, “The Laughing Policeman”, “Brubaker” and “Let’s Get Harry”.

His TV credits included “The Jeff Foxworthy Show”, “Grace Under Fire”, “The Waltons”, “Magnum, P.I.”, “The Practice”, “Chicago Hope” and “The Winds of War”.

He is survived by his daughter Aimee Clark, his third wife, Sharon, his sons, Matthias, Jason and Seth, grandchildren Sequoia, Dylan, Elizabeth, Miles, Emily, Izzy, Dax, Emanuel and Lucas, great-grandson Claude, and stepchildren Michelle, Joyce and Ray.
