Tyson Kidd Reportedly Out for a Year with Serious Neck Injury – WWE Breaking News
WWE superstar Tyson Kidd will reportedly undergo surgery this week following a serious neck injury. The injury occurred during a dark match with Samoa Joe prior to Monday Night Raw. Samoa Joe conducted his “muscle buster” finisher on Kidd, who did not land well on the mat. The surgery will be the same neck operation undergone by several other wrestlers, including Steve Austin, Chris Benoit, and Edge. Tyson Kidd confirmed through his Twitter account that he is having the surgery, which will likely keep him from wrestling for 12-14 months.
It will be a long road for Tyson Kidd as he tries to get in shape and cleared for a return to the WWE in 12-14 months. Physical therapy will start soon after the surgery, but the real question is how well will the operation go. Other wrestlers who have undergone the surgery, most notably Edge, stated that with these types of injuries you are on borrowed time and the pain only increases. Tyson Kidd is certainly one of the hardest working wrestlers on the roster and recently found his niche as Cesaro’s tag team partner. The two were recently the Tag Team Champions and began to gain some fan recognition for their talent together in the ring. Kidd’s departure from the WWE for the next year will force WWE Creative to yet again have to come up with a new storyline for Cesaro, who I think is immensely talented in the ring (although he needs to be better on the microphone). We do wish Tyson Kidd a successful surgery and quick recovery.
