Undefeated Julian “El Camaron” Ramirez to Headline at The Belasco

Once again Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions brings fight fans the LA Fight Club Series. On Friday January 29th undefeated prospect Julian “El Camaron” Ramirez, 15-0, 8 KO’s will headline a 10 round featherweight bout on Boxeo Estelaron on Estrella TV. Ramirez takes on Christopher “S.D. Kid” Martin, 28-6-3, 9 KO’s of Chula Vista, California in a 10-round fight for the vacant WBC Silver Youth Featherweight Title. Julian is the nephew of the late world-champion boxer Genaro “Chicanito” Hernandez and is a local So. Cal favorite. Ramirez last fought in October at the Stubhub Center on the Lucas Matthysse, Viktor Postol undercard. Julian came away with a convincing unanimous decision over Hugo Partida. “El Cameron” is a powerful, come forward fighter who can use this fight against Martin as a major stepping stone in his young career.His opponent, Christopher Martin, has been in the ring with former world title challengers Chris Avalos, Miguel Marriaga, and current WBC featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr., so this fight will be a big measuring stick for Ramirez and his team.

In the co-feature of the night, undefeated featherweight Abraham “Chamaco” Lopez, 19-0-1, 14 KO’s of La Puente will battle against San Juan, Puerto Rico’s Carlos Valcarcel, 14-6-4, 5 KO’s, in a 10-round event. As part of the Ring TV live stream, Jonathan Navarro, 3-0, 2 KO’s, of East Los Angeles, will fight in a six-round super lightweight bout against Carlos “Coreano” Rodriguez, 9-2, 4 KO’s of Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico. Also featured as part of the Ring TV live stream, Edgar Valerio, 4-0, 2 KO’s of Los Angeles will fight in a six-round featherweight bout against Justin Lopez, 5-4, 5 KO’s of Grandville, Michigan. and Joshua Franco, 3-0, 2 KO’s of San Antonio, Texas will face off against Juan Benavides, 5-6-1, 2 KO’s of Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico in a six-round super flyweight bout. Also, fan favorite Pablo “The Shark” Rubio, Jr. 3-0, 2 KO’s of Whittier, Calif. will open up the night and the Ring TV live stream in a four-round super bantamweight bout against Bryan Perez, 2-2-1, 1 KO, of Carolina, Puerto Rico. Golden Boy will continue to showcase their stable of fighters February 5th at Fantasy Springs in Indio, and February 19th, March 4th, April 1st, and April 15th at The Belasco Theater in Downtown Los Angeles.
