Quiet Riot Drummer Frankie Banali Dead at 68 – Cause of Death REVEALED

American drummer Frankie Banali, best known for his work with multi-platinum heavy metal band Quiet Riot died August 20, 2020, of pancreatic cancer in Los Angeles, California. He was 68.

The Queens, New York native (born November 14, 1951), moved to Los Angeles in the mid-1970s where he played drums for Billy Idol and various bands including W.A.S.P., Dokken, Faster Pussycat, Blackthorne and Steppenwolf.

In 1980 he joined Kevin DuBrow and formed the band DuBrow, which was ultimately changed to Quiet Riot. Quiet Riot’s debut album Metal Health was released in 1983. The album reached the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 charts, making it the first heavy metal album to go to #1 on the charts. Metal Health sold over 10 million copies worldwide and help usher in the decade of heavy metal hair rock. Quiet Riot produced 14 studio albums and released such hit singles as Metal Health, Cum on Feel the Noize, Rebel in the F.D.G., Mama Weer All Crazee Now, The Wild and the Young, Slick Black Cadillac, Party All Night, Don’t Wanna Let You Go, Stay with Me Tonight, Thunderbird, Sign of the Times, Let’s Get Crazy, Scream and Shout, Born to Rock, Highway to Hell and many others.

On January 18, 2017 Banali was inducted into the Hall of Heavy Metal History for his contribution to Heavy Metal drums.
