FFC 33 Results From Las Vegas

November 3rd, 2018 Bad Brad

The Main Event of “FFC 33” delivered an upset and a new champion, as Mykta Chub (18-7-0) defeated previously unbeaten champion Andi Vrtacic (10-1-0) by split decision (47-48, 48-47, 48-47) to win the FFC Middleweight Kickboxing Title.

Chub and Vrtacic displayed a great deal of endurance during their five round war. Chub was able to pin Vrtacic into the corners quite often during this fight, frustrating the young Vrtacic and preventing him from using his signature high kicks. Vrtacici landed some nice head kicks and few solid combinations but it wasn’t enough to impress the judges, allowing Chub to steal the win, and the title.

November 2nd, 2018 Bad Brad

It’s looking like a showdown between these two British fighters is likely to happen by the end of the year. All that’s left to happen is for the details to be finalised and the contracts to be signed and it looks like we’ll have another entertaining fight on our hands!

In what feels like ages ago now, James DeGale lost to George Groves via a majority decision for both the British and Commonwealth titles.

That was 7 years ago and just goes to show where DeGale is in his career now, he’s clearly heading towards the end of his time as a professional athlete.

Ringside Report Looks Back at Former WBA Junior Middleweight Champion Ayub Kalule

November 2nd, 2018 Bad Brad

By Donald “Braveheart” Stewart

Great Britain has an uncertain past. There is a word that conjures up certain negative values when said out loud and no matter how much we have done to assuage guilt over our past, no matter how much of a revamp or retitling happens, the conduct of our forefathers in purist of Empire was, for most of us, a shameful episode in our history.

We pillaged, we exploited, and we held ourselves high above the native holders of each plundered land we conquered as the civilizers and the lairds.

The Three Seminole Wars, The Naming of a County And The Whites Begin To Arrive — Part II

November 2nd, 2018 Bad Brad

By Seth H. Bramson

Our last column brought us up to the late 1880s or early 1890s, when Elnathan Field and Ezra Osborne “lost their shirts” attempting to cultivate coconuts in the sand of the mangrove sandbar island on the east side of Biscayne Bay and we closed by noting that they had returned to New Jersey to see if they could find a pige—er, buyer—for that property. Before we step back in time for a moment, though, we should note that Field and Osborne—no dummies they—did keep the remainder of the extensive oceanfront properties which they had purchased from the State of Florida Internal Improvement Fund (IIF) running all the way from the tip of Key Biscayne to north of Jupiter. However, the moving backward for just a moment will be timely at this juncture.

Mark “The Bazooka” DeLuca: Fighting Marine, MASS Roots, and Boxing Beginning & Future…

November 1st, 2018 Bad Brad

Exclusive Interview by Joshua “City” Brewer

“I grew up looking at the dress blue uniforms and seeing my Uncle’s medals and stuff. It was pretty nostalgic for me as a kid so it always made me want to grow up and serve my country.” – Mark “The Bazooka” DeLuca

Boxing is a sport of sacrifice. Every time a fighter leaves the ring a piece of the fighter is left behind. Some sacrifices are made well beforehand. In the case of Mark “The Bazooka” DeLuca, 22-1, 13 KO’s, sacrifice is simply a nine letter word. His destiny was etched in the stone from the beginning. Having grown up in the company of multiple generations of Marines and having honorably served his country himself, the term ‘first to fight’ was appropriately coined for this fighting Marine (shout out to Tunney).
